오늘의 곡은 “Anna” 이라고 해서William Butler의 2015년도 솔로 앨범 “Policy” 에 수록된 곡입니다. William Butler는 2000년에 결성된 캐나다 인디락 밴드 “Arcade Fire”의 맴버이지요. 솔직히 제가 잘 모르는 밴드입니다. 아저씨라 21세기 음악부터는 좀 문외한이 되었지요. 구글하니 인디락, 댄스락,바로크락 장르의 밴드라는 데… 뭐 곡을 몇 개 들어보니 나쁘지 않은 인디락 음악들이더라고요. 솔직히 제 취향은 아니지만…

아무튼 어떻게 이 밴드의 멤버 William Butler의 곡 “Anna”를 찾게 된건가 하면 바로 이곡의 뮤직 비디오을 구글이 추천해 주었기 때문입니다. 여배우 Emma Stone이 나오고 제가 팬이라서 알고리즘이 그런 것 같습니다. 몇 년전부터 뮤직 비디오에 음악가가 아닌 배우를 정면에 내세우는 트랜드가 있었는데 이 뮤직 비디오도 그런 경우이지요. 여배우 Emma Stone이 유람선을 배경으로 열광적으로 춤추는 내용인데 배우의 매력이 흘러 넘치는 뮤직비디오였지요.
솔직히 음악도 나쁘지 않지만 여배우 Emma Stone을 위한 영상이라고 볼 수 밖에 없네요. 그러고 보니 웃기는 것이 “Anna”라는 여성이름을 곡명으로 쓰고 배우는 “Emma” 입니다. 그래서 댓글 중에 누구는 “이제 Emma라는 뮤직 비디오에 Anna Kendrick이 주연하면 되겠네” 라고 적었더군요. 두배우 모두 동시대의 여배우로 비슷하면서도 개성이 많이 다른 배우들이라 자주 비교가 되지요. 저는 둘다 팬입니다.

Today's song is “Anna” and it's from William Butler's 2015 solo album “Policy”. William Butler is a member of the Canadian indie rock band “Arcade Fire” formed in 2000. Honestly, it's a band I don't know about. As an old man, 21st-century music is a bit of a black hole for me. Google says it is an indie rock, dance rock, and baroque genre band. After listening to some songs, they weren’t wasn't bad but honestly, not my taste...

Anyway, how did I find the song “Anna” by William Butler?  Google recommended this music video one day. The algorithm seemed to match the fact that the video starred actress Emma Stone and I am a fan who searched a lot of videos with her in them. Since a few years ago, there was a trend in music videos that put actors, not musicians, as the main front. “Anna” is an example of this having Actress Emma Stone was passionately dancing against the backdrop of a cruise ship. It was a showcase for the actress’s charm.

Honestly, the music is good, but it was a video made for actress Emma Stone. As a side note, it is funny the song has a female name “Anna” as its song title and an actress starring called “Emma”. Anna and Emma. The puns write themselves. One of the comments said, "Now we just need a song called “Emma” and its music video to be starred by Anna Kendrick. Then live would make sense." Both actorness are actresses of the same age range, but very different personalities. As a result, they are often compared. I am a fan of both.

If you put this song into the AI tool Beatsage, it will create a very interesting map as the AI likes songs with strong beats. The Bombs and walls are also placed well. So I recommend checking them in the tool. The map tends to splatter sound boxes all around constantly, but their locations are surprisingly organic. So, once you get used to the map, even a normal level player at a hard level.
